- 1 1/2 cups basmati rice
- 1 lb boneless chicken
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 large onions
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4 cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
- 2 tbsp ghee
- Salt to taste
Follow these steps to make the perfect chicken biryani:
Step 1: Soak the Rice
Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear, then soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes.
Step 2: Marinate the Chicken
Cut the boneless chicken into bite-sized pieces and marinate it with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, ginger-garlic paste, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
